The minds of Running Maryland, ERR, Frederick County Running and Mocorunning worked together with the media to come up with All-state and All-County teams. I think they did a good job on what is also tough decisions: www.errun.org/2006XCAll-StateAll-CountyTeams.html

How does Dylan Bernard get on the all-state teams and Arthur Leathers gets left off?

I think arthur was left off because he was in jared's shadow for a majority of the season. he did amazing at states but i think the creators of the list wanted to put a variety of schools in it looking at the season as a whole. not taking away from his GREAT 2nd place finish though. congrats to those guys, hopefully you all have more bonfires =-D haha sweet, this post made my 150th making me state champ too

Jake puts good points, AND Dylan was a county and conference champion. He was the most dominant runner from Frederick County (I don't believe he ever lost to a single frederick county runner all year)

These aren't the same All-County picks as those made by the Carroll County Times, right? I made this list, but I'm not even sure if I made 2nd team for the Times. Is there even a 2nd team, and if so, do we know if we made it before the paper announcing it comes out?

I made 2nd team for Carroll County Times last year and I had no prior notice than seeing it in the paper that morning.

same here...if i understand correctly, the top 8 runners at counties are named to the all-county list, and the next 8 are named to the second team all-county list.

Yes, TYPICALLY the top 8 become first team, but the next 8 do not consistitue 2nd team. 2nd team the Carroll County times gets input from coaches, but essentially makes the final decision.
