How did it go today? I want lots of details. Did FSK finish 1,2 and 3? How were Westminster's "6 strong seniors"? How did Doug (SC) and Avior (Century) do?

I just did a writeup for runningmaryland about the meet that should be up soon but are a few details.
Leathers won, and White just edged out Jake Zamostny for 2nd, but Jake looked really good. Doug Findeison didn't run. Zach Holz took 4th. FSK's 4 & 5 guys were right with Westminster's number 3, so FSK won by 21 points and looked pretty good. Westminster has a great pack, they were close most of the race (within 3 seconds at the mile for all 7). If they keep moving up they will be tough.
In the girls race, SC looks very good. Catherine Robinson, Emily Powell and Jessica Johnson didn't run for them (all varsity), but they still only lost by 2 points. Rachel Sykes easily won, and freshman Erin Slifer just got out kicked by Kirsten McGovern to finish 3rd (McGovern 2nd). Westmisnter has a good pack too, their #1 runner Ali Thompson had to drop out. She is ok, and look like she can compete with the best in the county. Century girls despite losing 5 varsity runners from last year, won the meet. Freshman and ERR member Maura Linde looked great, and could be a big factor in the county as she races more.

I also have over 130 pictures. I sent 10 to runningmaryland, and I will try to put all of them up on the ERR photo albums.

coach
in your writeup on RM you say Sykes ran the first mile in 5:10. That seems really fast for a girl. Did you mean 6:10?

Excellent writeup coach, thanks for getting information out there about Carroll County at such an early meet in the season. I thought it was really entertaining and I didn't know about what all went on in the race until now. Thanks again for your dedication to the sport.

Yeah, sorry about that - it was 6:10. Fast fingers, slow brain.
The full results are up on the article too. The course is a relatively fast course. But it was very hot and humid.

I just put up the results on the Carroll County Results Page.
Working on Rankings, and a top 15 times page.

Good job everyone!
Does anyone know why Powell, Robinson, Johnson, and Findeison (SC) didn't run? Or if they will be running at the HoCo invite?

I believe Coach Pennington had various reasons. Mostly resting but should all be racing next week. He wasn't sure about Friday when I talked to him.

He was/is doing really well. It is too bad about the injury, but hopefully good news will come. I know he ran a 4:32 mile at the ERR retreat (it was a downhill mile, but he was right on Eric Liberatore's heals).
