The Carroll County Championships are on Saturday, January 23rd starting at 1:00 pm (they may try to start at 12:45).
In the past, each school has been responsible for getting a certain number of volunteers for the meet. If a school can not get volunteers then that teams coach must cover an event.
Over the past few years I have tried to get enough vounteers to cover all of our volunteers so that no coach has to either look for volunteers OR officiate the meet (so they can do what we all want them to do, which is coach these kids). It has worked out great the last coulpe of years because of such great parents. I thought this year I would post on this message board to see if anybody would like to volunteer this year.
We really hope we can have the same support from our parents again this year. Even if you can only help for an hour or two, please let me know. I want to start rounding up volunteers for the day so I can let the meet host know how many we have.
If you have a request to do a certain job(s), let me know. Let me know when you are available (if you can't help the whole meet). It would be nice to have enough volunteers that most only have to work 2 hours or even less.
Here is a list of a few of the jobs we may need help for (if you have no preferance that is ok too, most jobs need no experience):
If you can help out, either post on here, or email me at CoachSpongeBob10@yahoo.com.
Thanks!

- Help at a Field Event: High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put
- Lap Counter for 3200
- Crowd Control: Making sure kids and parents don't walk across the track when people are racing by (this seems to be a problem for folks at Hagerstown)
- Awards: Sit at a table and as results are printed put ribbons/medals for teams in their team envelopes
- Timer - we may get a FAT timer for this meet, so this job may end up being unnessary. We may still need them though, and may need just some help at the finish line.
If you can help out, either post on here, or email me at CoachSpongeBob10@yahoo.com.
