I know no one really gets on here, but with the first meets coming up soon, does anyone have any predictions for the season?

Well obviously ryans going to have a strong season, running that 10:00 in the 32 and all. Cody mezibish will probably dominate the girls sprints, with amber melville on high jump, beacham, cooke, taylor, and pezza should be neck in neck the entire season, counties is going to come down to whoever has the biggest lead or strongest kick. Ben Raver and Chris Patrice are going to be top in the 100 200 and 400, the 800 will be close, leland, spangler and kelly will have to fight for that. Century's girls team is going to win everything, except the high jump (amber melville). Also, is anyone has a chance to beat maura its hannah oneda, but shes gonna have to work hard and maura is an all around good runner so it should be interesting. Im not really sure about pole vaulting or triple jump, but that kid from liberty will win the high jump. if the old standings hold true, spangler should win the 1600 but that remains to be seen. The mile is going to be westminsters weak point. I can expect us to place in the top 5 in the 3200 800 300 hurdles 100 hurdles MAYBE 400. The 4x8 will do good if you guys want to put the effort into it, the 4x2 has potential and the 4x4 is going to be a failure (as per usual)

I'm not really sure what liberty kid you're talking about in the high jump, but there's Tommy Butler from FSK for high jump who was named all state for high jump in indoor(i believe first in the state?) Also i wouldn't say that century's girls will win everything, you even said that Cody Mezebish will probably dominate sprints. But the century girls will do really strong in distance, especially with Maura. And I think our team will definitely improve from indoor, especially with Ryan doing better.

by everything i meant everything important, aka distance....just kidding, sprints are just as important, i meant distance for century though. and maybe that guy was from key? he was in the papaer last week maybe i mixed the colors up. our girls team is going to have a rough time though

yeah they will, especially since hardly any girls on our team care, then again not too many guys care either, mostly just the guys who did indoor.

Sounds like Lax has hurt the girls teams in the county more then the boys teams. Paper said that Century lost some girl sprinters to lacrosse, and North Carroll lost a few of their girl sprinters to lacrosse (most notably Brittnay Coppa). how that effects things could be interesting. North Carroll does get back the top thrower in the county in Caitlin Bach.
With more events in outdoor (18) it could be interesting to see what the does to the girls team standings. Remember, Liberty lost to Century by only 2 points at Counties. Maura can only score 2 more points then she did, but there will be 155 more points available. Winters Mill gets Erica Diffendal for the first time in outdoor (has done softball the last two years) and that will certainly help them. They also had another girl that has played lax the last 3 years that should have an immediate impact in this county from what I hear.
With the loss of sprinters to lax, might it give a team like Manchester Valley, who is certainly strong in sprints, a chance to score points.
SC girls should be strong in sprints, and they had a huge team come out for the outdoor season. They might be a factor in who wins.
Liberty girls lost only 4 girls (2 to lax and 2 to softball) but only one of them scored for the team in the championships (but they do lose leadership on the girls that left). They gained a few faces, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out for them too.
On the boys side, the indoor county champions team was Century, and they add Justin Kennel. That should be a big factor. Can anyone challenge them?
The defending outdoor county champs, FSK, certainly will believe so. They always gain in the outdoor season (partly because two of their strengths - the horizontal jumps and hurdles - add 3 events in the outdoor season). Irving Jeffries joins their team (basketball). They only lost by 5.5 points indoors to Century, so they certainly look like a team that could win.
The Winters Mill coaching staff sounded excited about their team this year. They certainly have the strength in distance. They usually add a couple athletes from the indoor season too.
Liberty added a lot of soccer and football players this spring, but we have a ton of athletes that are doing track & field for the first time. We will definitely be a different team at the beginning of the season then at the end. Not to mention we have added depth in the throws. Frankie Newsom was 3rd in the county indoors in shot put, and he is fighting for 3rd on the team right now. That is what happens when you add Nick Smith (#1 returner in discus, #2 returner in sp from last year) and a few football guys. We also have a big freshman class of kids that could be fighting for varsity spots this year. (we have 68 on our boys roster right now)
You already talked about the Westminster boys, and I don't know much about South Carroll, NOrth Carroll or Manchester Valley except what you read in the paper.

FSK boys are gonna dominate in long, triple and high jump and pole vault. thanks to tommy butler (high jump indoor state champ), irv jeffress (2009 outdoor long jump county champ and 4th in triple jump), chris thomas (2nd in counties for indoor high jump) and brian bowers (2009 outdoor pole vault county champ). county champs again, im thinking....

im not sure, century has a strong team this year, seeing as the girls won states and the guys came in 3rd. don't rule out winters mill either. Field events help your score but dont forget about the actual running events

FSK does have some good athletes in other areas too, they did tie for second at indoor counties only 5.5 points behind 1st, and there will be a lot more points to be gained in field where they're strong (mostly long and triple jump since they aren't in indoor at all) than there will be to get extra points for other events. But it's still way too early to rule out century or winters mill, they might get someone new, or injuries could hurt any team in the county a lot.

century is really strong on the boys side, thats true in distance they have nick pezza who has always been on top and josh titus in sprints winters mill is also strong in distance FSK has basically no one who can score for distance but in sprints we're on top out of 17 teams in the patriot invite today, FSK's boys came in 3rd

Rankings for the season are up for the first time.
On the boys side, It is a long season, and a number of teams will have a push to win it, but on paper FSK is going to be very tough. If you just take the field events, they have arguably the top two high jumpers and could score 3, they have the top 2 triple jumpers, the top 2 long jumpers, the returning county champ in pole vault, and a few throwers that can score. Teams will have to take some points from FSK in those events, cause just there they have potential for over 60 points in those events - Add in that they have the number 2 returning hurdler in both the HH and 300H, and you are already looking at possibly 70+ points without any relays (where they are strong in the 4x1, 4x2 and 4x4) and sprints.
Nobody is giving them the title, and Century is the defending county champs, but they are certainly going to be tough.

I think that's a very good possibility, as long as he stays healthy, which hopefully he will.
