by the way these don't have to be your favorites or least favorites... you could do the hardest workout and the easiest

I was reading this book the other day with some the workout Bob Bowerman wrote up, and one was a 200 in 30 sec. followed by a 200. in 40 secs. The workout continues until you can't go any longer or until you can't keep up the pace.
it said most guys on the team did 8 laps I think it was Roberto Alazar did 16 laps and Pre holds the record with 18 laps.

We did that workout in college - it was called the Pre workout. I have our team do it (with adjusted times appropriate for everybody) do that workout in the spring. It's a tough workout.
My college roommate did that workout and ran his 2 mile PR by the end of the workout. The hardest part of the workout is the recovery 200. I always had a hard time hitting that time.

My favorite workout is 100 meter hills. I think it works best if you pick more of a slight incline rather than a monstrous hill.

Mile Repeats at 5 30 to 5 40 was not to fun... try doing three to four of them...
It seemed like workouts weren't all that bad when you were a junior and senior, but when you were a rookie, its a pain in the butt...

It's kind of hard to explain... but I'll give it a try.
You run a mile around the track as fast as you can, then you go off track(for your recovery time) and make a lope(for us our lope goes up hill). Then you go back to the track and run a 1200 as fast as you can... this continues until you finish a 400.
