I love it when one of the new kids tries going super fast on warm ups because they think it is a race.
(This reminds me of myself because that is what I did during the first day I ran)

Seeing everyone again. There's a lot of enthusiasm and optmism for the season, so it's really fun. But I don't get to experience it this year.

i agree with scdistance, watching the n00bs go really fast cracks me up. I also like actually running, and feeling like i have a purpose again. summer running is important, but i just feel like it doesn't actually count for anything, but what i do at practice does.

The best part of the first part of practice - the end of it.
The first week I don't find much fun, it's getting through the boring stuff. Not till you start racing and pasta parties and when the team really starts to bond is it a lot of fun.
And honestly, we haven't had as many freshman that go out blazing the first week. Probably because so many start running with the Rogue Runners, or maybe its cause they can't keep up with the top guys even at a sprint. Only guy I recall coming out blazing was Cross, and guess what, he never slowed down!

like hasercentury06 said getting to see the people on the team again is always nice. It's fun to see how they improved and how they expect to do that season.

We had 70 or so at our first practice, and possible more to come??? Wow nice turnout. And I hear there was a ton at Boys Soccer tryouts. Not bad for one of the smallest 2a Schools in the state. Can't imagine if our school was bigger how many kids would come out.

No Brad Ratliff for Century. From what i hear he is having a beastly swim season and doesn't have time to run.

We also had one of the biggest turn outs that our team has ever had. I would say about 40 kids were there and I know at least 5 more who are going to run but could not make it yesterday.
