An announcement from a couple of Liberty Team Parents:

Hello Everyone! Please MARK THIS DATE: 10/11/06



We will host a Dominoes Pizza Night immediately after the Run From the Lions Den home meet on October 11, 2006.



Each year the Liberty XC tries to have 2 Pizza Hut nights to help raise money in support of the Liberty Athletic Boosters program. This year we are trying something different! There will be no long waiting time for a table at Pizza Hut, and Dominoes will DELIVER anywhere (just about J).



We are holding an after meet PIZZA PARTY in the cafeteria of the school, right after the meet.

COST is $5 per person… and ALL FAMILY MEMBERS are invited to stay.



Please RSVP by having your runner pay in advance.

THEY CAN PAY AT PRACTICE AND GIVE MONEY TO MOLLY TIMBERLAKE OR ANDREW CROSS…

and we will ensure that there is plenty of hot, fresh pizza and cold drinks right after the meet. If you would like to pay by check, please make checks out to Joan Timberlake.



Attached is a flyer where you can find the necessary information, including the coupon to use that will give our school 15% of each order. This fundraiser usually does very well in Carrolltown and Piney Ridge Elementary schools…netting $300 or more each time they do it.



We can make this a successful fundraiser, but we need YOUR help!

ordering pizza from Dominoes on Wednesday, October 11th!



Keep in mind that Dominoes will DELIVER to the field after the game, OR to your home! Have your coupon ready to hand over so that we are ensured a profit from your sale.

Congrats to the MVRs from the SC Invite:

Kate Herholtz - Kate ran great splits as she moved up considerably both in the race and on the team. She took on a challenging course to run her best race of the year.

Robyn Dozier - We talk about running the 2nd half of the race stronger, and that is what Robyn did. Robyn continued to push, and didn't wait to try to extend her kick as she came out of the woods with 300 meters to go.

Danny Haines - Not only did Danny run a great race, he stepped up as a leader not only at the meet but also the day before. He helped with his experience at South Carroll to get the younger runners ready for the meet.

Jon Seipp - Also running his best race possibly of his career, Jon ran strong throughout, putting up nice even splits and came in with everything he had to finish it off.

Congrats to our MVRs from Bull Run.

Girls:

Caitlyn Hill - Usually when a freshman is asked to step into a varsity role, the first time they do they tend to not race as well. Even more true when they are asked the day before a meet. For Caitlyn, this didn't happen. She stepped up big for the team, placing 4th on the team and helping the team to a 4th place finish. Without her running varsity, the girls would have been hurt.

Rebecca Thiem - Rebecca led a great pack through the field in the early part of the race. She helped a group of girls as they past groups of girls at a time. Thing was, she never stopped that push, and guided herself to the best race of the year, placing 10th on the team.

Boys:

Dan Rodriguez - Dan was coming off a week where he didn't do much running do to an injury. He was suppose to slowly work his way back. Instead he slowly picked runners off throughout the race, finishing in the top 10 (5th?) in the JV race and earning a spot back on the varsity team.

Matt Kuegler - Matt also missed considerable time due to an injury. He elected to give this meet a go, and despite still feeling bad, he pushed his way to probably his best race of his carear.

A reminder - practice on Thursday (10/5) is at 4:00 pm at Liberty.

Practice on Saturday (10/7) is at 9:00 am at Liberty.

We will be fixing up the course on Saturday after practice. Please try to stick around to help out.

Congrats to the MVRs from NC

Girls:

Lisa Robbins - Lisa once again keeps moving up. She had another incredible race, inching ever closer to SC's #2 runner.

Abby Carlson - Abby all year has shown huge improvements from a year ago, and at NC she had another great race. Working with Rebecca most of the race, she moved up again on the team and ran great splits.

Boys:

Matt Little - Amazing to think about the improvement of Matt over the last year. A year ago he was finishing 30th on the team. His hard work over the last year had him finishing 7th on the team at NC. Matt also had great splits.

Matt Rivera - Matt has battled shin splints all season, but it hasn't stopped him from continueing to improve. At NC he finished in the top 10 on the team, finishing 9th with his best race to date.
