Carroll County Teams were going to the Blue Ridge Relays at Frederick and the Hawk Invite at Urbana. While the rains seem to hold off for most of the day in Eldersburg, they didn't hold off in Frederick County. The Blue Ridge Relays were completely canceled, and the Hawk Invite was canceled after a couple events.
Anybody know what they did run at the Hawks Invite? Was there anything worth talking about - or just trials were run?
I'm assuming neither one will be made up since the MVAL Championship is next week. That will be the 4th meet for county teams canceled so far this year.

At Hawk, just trials and the 4 x 800's were run.
Century missed the boys race because they skipped the semis that were scheduled in between the 4 x 800's without announcing it. We had planned on going down on final call, but they didn't even do that. It was very poorly run for the little bit we were there.

You live and you learn. Remember, you should report by 2nd call. But it was a lost weekend.

There were no calls at all. But it was just a bad weekend...no big deal.

at Urbana the morning rains kept washing out lanes 1 and 2. the boys 4x800 change was announced but their PA system was very weak and all the teams on far side of track may not have heard. in the boys relay some of the guys went around the water in the inside lanes, others just plowed right through, they didn't care about getting more soaked. Kinda like Lancer at Kemptown XC meet last October. When the meet cancellation was announced a big cheer went up throughout the stadium. guess everyone wanted to get back on the bus and dry out. shortly after teams started leaving the rains stopped for about 3-4 hours.
