Nice results for Liberty. Very fast times all around, how was the course?

HOT!@!!!!
Somewhat fast, but cars parked in horrible places really slowed alot of people down and the school grounds were kind of in bad shape - slowing things down more.
The really talented competition (Virginia powerhouses Potomac Falls and Jefferson) along with Gaithersburg made for a faster race, though.

Anyone ever hear of it being short? Two years ago one of my freshman dropped over a minute from a Wednesday meet to this meet. He was good but not that good.

How are you going to do the conversions of 3 mile or shorter times to 5k for the top time list?

For some courses I will be there and try to run it beforehand to get a measurement. I will ask meet directors when I can, and just convert them to 5K times, pretty simple calculation.

The coach at Boonsboro reported the course to be 5k.

Middletown also reports their course to be 3 miles. I don't buy either one.

Can't say I disagree with Middletown's course being short.
But I think the Boonsboro course is likely to be a 5k. There are way too many areas, however, that are very wide or not well marked, that allow for shaving feet off turns and lines that are measured and marked somewhat crooked. It seemed longer than in previous years, if for no other reason than the entire field had to run around so many cars parked along the southern uphill, forcing many to run outside them and on the road. The finish loop was also extended longer around t he field, adding almost a tenth of a mile there.

I did get verification from the Boonsboro coach - it is a 3.0 mile course. She said they made some changes to the course, but nothing that extended the course any but did add an extra gradual hill into the course.
