about counties....i hear that century doesn't have a pole vault pit, and i was wondering if they're getting one or not.
not trying to be selfish and only concerned with my event, but having Erik Adami and Jordan Wike and other good pole vaulters in our county...we can't just cut the event.

I was told that the pole Vault competition may be done at Liberty. This was told to me by another coach, but I haven't heard this from our AD yet. It was unclear how this would work, possibly the day before. I am not sure if that means that Varsity Pole Vault would occur on the day of JV Counties or what. When we know more we will let you know.

We do have a pole vault pit...but its not perfect or even close. Not sure about the standards either...word from the vaulters is that its dented. Hopefully we will have it ready to go by counties.

not trying to be rude or anything, but how come each year, the varsity county meet is scheduled to be at mcdaniel and each year it somehow gets moved. i would love to run on that track. since its obviously never going to be there, how is the location of the county meet chosen? i personally think that it should be a neutral location at the college like in XC but the next best track i would think is winters mills track. i just wish i knew what was going on, thats all.

It used to always be at McDaniel, but a few years ago McDaniel started re-doing their facilities. The last 2 years that is why it isn't there. I don't know why they switched it this year. I like it at McDaniel, it just gives a nice feel. But the neutral idea I don't think is much of a factor in track. I just like the atmosophere.
Also like to state I like the XC champs at McDaniel, but there are some people that argue that it being at McDaniel is not a neutral site since it is more accessable to some teams then others. So you really can never win. I would much rather it be at McDaniel then any where else. Again - love that atmosphere, makes you feel iimportant having a meet at a college, it means just a little bit more.

I heard NC bought Century's pole vaulting equipment from them a couple years ago when we started turing out vaulters like Wunderlich. And in response to Jake, we could hold countiesat Hereford instead...yeah, i think McDaniel will be just fine.

yea, i remember seeing the jumping pits being worked on at xc counties this year. too bad, i ran a 2 mile WRRC race on it once and its a wonderful place. the turf isnt a bad place to warm up on either. haha, yes, hereford would be interesting for counties, but i think "Counties" are supposed to be located in the "county"
