Obviously, a relay split is not comparable to an open split, but if you were to compare...
Nick's 1:54.8 is faster then any time run in an open 800 in the state this year. Hopefully we will see an exciting race on Saturday too. Hard to match that though.
At the same time, if we compared Katie Hursey's split of 2:18 in the 4x8 at regionals, that would put her in the top 10 in the open 800 - and that's supposedly her "weaker event" not that she is really weak in the event, just hasn't won a state title (yet).
Good luck to both at the state championships in that event.
