Fellow Runners: I sent a note out a few weeks back about the VA Beach Half Marathon and trying to get a group together to run on Saturday mornings out of Alpha Park to train for a longer race (Whether it is VA Beach or something else). I need some feedback. I did want to ask - are any of you up for - longer group runs out of Alpha Park on Saturday Mornings? I am still not up to speed with my knee - ran last night and I had to back off after only 1/2 mile. BUT, I will set up water drops and keep pushing on this if any of you are up for it. I hope to be back and running 6 - 10 in the next 10 days. Saturday Morning - 8AM at Alpha Park. Let me know if you are coming, and feel free to pass this on to a friend. I do not have Laura Del Giorno's e-mail or Aubrey's. Mike Meadows, Liz... we do have some new "alumni" it would be fun to have join the pack; not to mention Frank, Kevin, B-Mull, Brian Haines, Pete, Rush, Walter... good list. I actually think Andy, Miguel, Bob and Allen could give you a run for your money... and Jim Ridder and Carole Williamson might be able to simply out distance those young legs - at least until you get your mileage up... ...So, pass this along and please give me some feedback. Here is a link to the 10 Mile Loop (you can easily break it off at 3, 4, 5...). Nice Shoulder to run on, 1 is relatively flat, the other is more hilly (two 10 mile loops): Relatively Flat: www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=103254 Hilly: www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=123132 Regards, Pete

Pete: I might try it some weekend, but I *really* don't like roads w/cars. I'm more into nature and am doing an 11-12 miler tomorrow from my house, to and around the perimeter of McKeldin/Patapsco Park, and then back home again. I have 1-2 bottle stash locations. It's hilly and painful, but you'll encounter few cars and it's very rewarding ... assuming you survive. --BP
