With the summer about to start, I hope you all are ready for a good off-season of training (cause thats when champions are born).
The Eldersburg Rogue Runners have a lot to offer this summer, and I hope you all take advantage. Obviously they have daily runs, the schedule should be up soon on our website. It's always easier to go out for runs when you have others to run with.
The CMAC, an affliate of ERR, is having relay races at Liberty every two weeks. The first one is Thursday. They are two person relays, each person running two legs. This Thursday each leg is 1K on the grass. It's a lot of fun, very low key. Challenge friends or family, run with your girlfriend or boyfriend and challenge another couple.
The CMAC also does workouts once or twice a week at SC High School. These are geared towards individuals training for fall races, and usually has especially good turnouts for college and post collegiate athletes. They meet every Monday, and meet on the Thursdays when there is not a relay at Liberty. The workouts are at 6:00 pm and are usually on the grass. Like I said, this is especially good for graduating seniors getting ready for their first collegiate xc season.
ERR has a lot of fun runs they do all summer. Every Friday night is usually a pizza run where then finish the run at someones house and order pizza. They usually have a scavenger hunt, a poker run, A wild goose chase, a night when they go to the oriole game then run a port to fort run, and will have pool runs during the week. Come out and join in some of the fun runs. The special runs (games, trip nights, pool and pizza runs) will be posted on the website.
The first week of August ERR has the summer Running Retreat. It sounds like a great time this year. I hear the place they are staying at has basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts and so much more. Great places to run, a lot of fun games, and hopefully some good campfires. This is a great trip, and hope you considered joining. It is especially great for new xc runners, incoming freshman, and we hope that some new runners that will be attending some of the high schools this fall will come join us. Space if filling fast, and their is already a waiting list for upperclassman as ERR is deciding if we should add some extra cabins depending on how many extra kids want to go.
There is so many different ways to get ready for the upcoming fall season. Even if your not going out for cross country, ERR would love to help you get ready for Soccer, Field Hockey or Football. Lets make the fall season in Carroll County the best yet. Hope to see you all this summer!
