I could have put this thread in a few places, but since outdoor track just ended I decided to put it here. With the season coming to a close, I have finally started to work again on the Carroll County Running Website. I have a lot of things I would like to put up, but one thing at a time. I have started to put up the records page: www.carrollcountyrunning.com/Records/I have already gotten records from 4 of the 7 county schools (actually one only sent me indoor so far, and I haven't gotten their indoor up yet). I will also be putting up the past state champions on the records page. I am hoping to create a Carroll County Championship page much like the MVAL pages I have created. The indoor one is done for MVAL, and I am close to finishing the outdoor one. I will try to get some things done tonight on that. I would love to one day try to collect pictures of past state champions from the county, but that might be quite a task. We'll see...

This is unrelated, but have they already determined all-county for the Times?

This is unrelated, but have they already determined all-county for the Times? The kids had their pictures taken last week. Jake, I was really surprised you weren't on the list.

For the 4x400 relay record, we had a 3:20.x I remember because I ran the anchor at states -- fastest split I'd ever run and the only time I got a sub-50 time. And I gotta say the only reason we won was because Mike Stiegler made up an enormous distance to get us from 3rd to first after three legs of the race. On the back turn, it was like the other guys were standing still when he hit the afterburners.

Oh, and it was DEAN Murphy, not Dan Murphy (on your state champs page)

When did the 3:20.x get run - cause these are records only from the Carroll County Championships meet (at least that is what I assume you are referring to).

Ah, ok. We never ran that fast at counties. And actually, we never ran that fast at states either. My memory remembered one thing and the newspaper clipping I dug up yesterday said we ran a 3:22.26 at states in 1980. At counties in 1980 we only ran a 3:33. Just enough to beat Westminster was good enough! :-)
