so yea i thought i'd be the one to start this up since i obviously dont have to pay attention in any of my engineering classes. what are everyones goals for this indoor/outdoor season? just wanna hear what positive thinking is coming from county athletes. ill start off i guess 400: 0:52 500: 1:07 800: 1:58 1600: 4:25 3200: 9:55 these are just times i'd like to hit. i think they are all within reach and just need some working at. let the fun begin

That is a smoking 500 time. I don't believe any Carroll Athlete has gone sub 1:09 in the last 6 years (Joe Taylor ran 2:09.55 in 2005 at the Indoor State Championships, best County Championship time since 2001 is by Chris Stinette in 1:10.4)
1:58 indoors is smoking too. It would be nice to get one carroll athlete sub 2 indoors this year.

wow Jake... those would be impressive... If you can do those in indoor, your outdoor times will be ridiculous.

at some point in indoor or outdoor... 800: 2:05 1600: 4:35 I think I'm capable of both, but I haven't ran very well as of late so I guess we'll see. Good luck to everyone at states.

well i guess i should put some goals down, some may be of events i might not be allowed to do but thats alright. 500- 1:07-1:08 800- 1:56-1:58 1600- 4:20 - 4:25 HJ- 6'9 - 7' 4x800- 8:10-8:15 4x400- ?? I find it really interesting that last years outdoor prediction were very accurate. I don't know who it was but props to the man who said they thought i would run a 1:56 800m in outdoor from the beginning of the season. I thought that was way to fast, but i guess not. I just wonder what he thinks about it this year. Well, everyone, indoor is about to start. We are all excited i'm sure, and i'm sure there will be some very key preformances out there, a lot of breakouts.

These times are crazy. I don't mean to be pessimistic, but miles under 4:30 in indoor are rare. I don't think many of these will be attained.
I'm certainly not discouraging anyone, go for the gusto. You never know what will happen. If you had told me freshman year that I could run a mile in 4:45 I would've laughed at you. Good luck to everyone for indoor.

i would just like to state that these are my goals for both indoor and outdoor combined. indoor i may focus on different events than i will in outdoor. it all depends. obviously getting all those times in the same meets is rediculous

Outdoor goals... 400- 0:54 800- 2:02 1600- 4:25 3200: 10:01
I'm not so sure I will be able to hit all these marks but I'm definitely gonna try to. Out of these my biggest goal would have to be doing well in the mile.

Traditionally they are picked based off the results from the county championships.
They contact you after they establish all the sports all county teams - usually through your coach.
