Thanks to the help of coaches, parents and athletes, I have been working on a Carroll County INdoor Track & field Preview. These aren't predictions, just some things to look forward to with the season. I have finished the girls, and hopefully I can finish the guys today. I did the best I could - pulled out the top returning athletes, and tried to use the thoughts of those that contributed. Please be nice! These are great! I wish we had these last year.
Only mistake I saw was you spelled Theron's name wrong. Great work!

So the times had their preview today.
First let me say, for anybody that may notice something like this, I never told the Times that Kate has jumped 5'3". Her PR is 5'0", not sure where Pat got that from.
I was honestly pretty disappointed in the preview. Why do they lump the boys and girls together? Essentially we got half the coverage of all the other sports then. They also put ours in 3 days after all the other sports.
I better keep my mouth shut though.

Last year we asked why our parents had to work the concession stand at games if the football player/parents never helped us in any way. We were told that we run on the fields causing deterioration to the fields....
I've accepted that running will never get the attention and respect it deserves. But if anyone wants to poke fun at running, ask them to race.

We get a little more respect then that at our school - but you get that when you win 3 state titles in a row. We also have the biggest teams in the school - which means if they do something that is not fair, they will get a lot of phone calls. We also ahve a lot of parents that will speak their mind if needed. We also have some of the best students in the school, so administration really respects that about us.
We do a road race in the spring for our athletic boosters. It can bring in a lot of money, and with ERR doing a lot of the heavy lifting on it, they are always asking how they can help us. It's a give and take relationship.

liberty is like a nest egg for runners haha, must be nice though. our athletic director respects us but past parents and each other, we dont get much respect. more motivation for me though haha
