These are the regional Alignments that the MPSSAA is voting on for next year. The numbers next to the school is the expected enrollments (Sophomore to Senior classes next year).

Most of the county (besides Westminster and Manchester) will be in 2a, and there is some interesting movement for 2a next year if this is passed:

Teams moving Out: Clarksburg, Northwood, South Hagerstown, Poly, Mt Hebron, River Hill, J.M. Bennett, Loch Raven

Teams Moving In: North Carroll, South Carroll, Poolesville, Wheaton, Chesapeake, Dundalk, Digital Harbor, Walbrook, Glenelg, Long Reach, Bel Air, Fallston

On one hand State Champions such as Mt Hebron (boys xc), River Hill (girls xc), Poly (track) leave, but teams like Digital Harbor (state champs in track), Glenelg (xc state champs) and some strong teams like Bel Air, Fallston and Poolesville come in.

Plus now there will be 6 Carroll Teams in 2a West!

This is stupid cause after my class the 11th graders leave NC they will be left to get destroyed due to the number of students in my grade after we leave they wont even have enough students to be 2A and they will be running/playin against 2A schools when there enrollment is only enough for a 1A

Actually, those numbers reflect the number of students expected at your school after those students leave. Based on this proposal, you still would have more students at NC then any 1a schoool (and a few 2a schools still). Basically they took into account what you are saying already, that is why you moved down from 4a to 2a.

so they don't look at the Juniors the class of 2010 cause i believe they do it said on mpssaa that they they look at the 9th 10th and 11th graders enrollment for this year to determine next years and the years after regions when they redo them in two years Nc will be 1a i think because the fact that no seniors goto mvh that after my class graduates there numbers would be small enough tobe 1A that they might ask for special permission to be 1a

Those numbers should be based on the sophomores through seniors for next year. I believe each county sends in their expected enrollments to the MPSSAA for those alignments. If on a non re-classification year a team changes population by a certain percentage (I forget the amount) they can move classifications. But since next year is a reclassification year, they will make sure that every school is in the correct class based on next years expected numbers.

You have to be pretty small to make 1a, even South Carroll moved up to 2a. NC will be the smallest county school besides the new school, but they will still have enough according to these figures to be a 2a school.

o stop complaining. Now you know how South Carroll, Century, FSK, Liberty, and Winters Mill feel every year at the county championships facing North Carroll and Westminster (two much bigger schools).
