I wanted to note that I have the rankings and top performances up to date. I will try to get them up as quickly as possible after meets (I had the MOuntain Run included in both before 8 am the day after the meet - probably the best I have done, so don't expect that everytime).
I haven expanded the Top Performances list this year. Realize that I convert every time to a 5K time. I do make mistakes, so let me know if you think I missed something. I will try my best not to miss out on anybody.
I am going to try something new this year. When multiple teams from the county attend a meet, with multiple ranked runners in the race, I will name a "Meet Most Valuable Runner" for Carroll County and post it on the message board and the Carroll County Running Home Page.
How will the Meet Most Valuable Runner be decided?
The boy and girl that had the biggest point increase in the rankings will be that meets runner of the meet. This isn't a perfect system (cause some athletes are still establishing themselves) but since the rankings are starting to stabalize already (especially on the guys side) it will show you who had the biggest improvement based on where they typically have finished. But note, the only way you can be named Meet Most Valuable Runner is if you are previously ranked. We too often always name the runner that wins the race as the one that had the best race, but we all know XC is a team sport, and it takes 5 to get a team score. I will give it a try, and see if people like it (if I get a lot of complaints about it, I might stop it).
