unfortunate on the DQ yesterday, as you ran a great race. re: the ruling, if you were knocked into the infield by another runner and gained an advantage, you could be DQ'd even if it wasn't your fault. So if it happened on a curve and you did not return to the spot that you were knocked into the infield, that would be an advantage. the officials could change the order of finish based on interference, but it is still expected for all runners to properly run the course, first.
Another example would be a hurdler is interfered with by another and gets knocked around a hurdle so he doesn't jump over it and still finishes the race. he can't use the interference as an excuse not to have cleared all the hurdles. so he would have had to go back to the hurdle he missed, clear it and then finish. the officials could then adjust his finish.
i wasn't near the finish line and didn't see any of the interference, but apparently it happened in front of a bunch of officials.
tough break for a great race. but at least it didn't happen at regionals, so you still have a great shot at states.

yea. They said i stepped out at the finish line. If anything i lost ground, but o well. Thanks for the kind words and good luck the rest of the way to you and your team.
