Bob, will the rankings be updated after regions and states? It must be alot of work for you, but I've really enjoyed watching the runners shift positions on the list.

Yeah, I just have been slacking. Believe it or not, I have a lot of work to do here at work, and I haven't even updated the "Black Book". I currently have about 30 windows open with various things I am trying to accomplish. Let's see if I actually get any of it done.
Tough time of year with XC ending, Indoor about to begin, and a lot of things in the queue here at work. Not to mention Foot Locker. But will get it done.

Down to 13 windows open, thus had enough wiggle room to update the boys rankings. Now trying to finish the girls.

Hi Bob. I hate to add to the list, but the top times listings do not reflect the regional races.
I also want to thank you for your hard work on all of this. It has been fun to watch.

Well, the Middletown course is 2.96 miles, so it doesn't qualify for either of the top times list (5K or 3 miles). I would need to add 3A West, if anybody qualified from that meet.

If it is truly 2.96, that means it would be about 14 seconds fast if a runner was running at 6:00 pace. I would argue that many of the courses may be somewhat off of the defined distance, so such a listing is always going to be incorrect at some level.

Other list like our top 10 list didn't use Middletown's either, for the same reason, and that's why I didn't count it (like Eric's 16:05 from last year would have been a top returning time, but its' not a 3 mile course so it wasn't included in top returning times, which I think is fair). By state rule, a course is suppose to be between 3 miles and 5K. Most courses seem to be either 3 m or 5K. That is my logic so I'm sticking to it.

Sorry, I was way behind, but I finally updated the girls rankings. I am working on the guys next. The final girls rankings does help to determine the pre-season rankings for next year. You take out the seniors, and add I believe it is 25 points to each score. I will have to look it up. Looks like Carly Reed will be the girls pre-season #1 runner for next year based off these rankings.

And now the boys. Sorry I took so long to finish these. Had other things I wanted to accomplish and kind of forgot about it. Nice to know that so many people were asking about it, that means people were actually looking at them.
If you have any ideas on "rules" we may want to change or add for next year let me know. A part of me wants to add more then 25 points to each person heading into next year. By adding more points, it will give more people a chance to make the rankings. As it is, I believe there is 13 boys on the rankings returning, and Leathers would start with 257 points. If I added say 68 points, then he would start with 300 points, and anybody that finishes within 2 minutes and 30 seconds of him would make the rankings to start next year.
Any thoughts are appreciated!
