Swiss didn't give up a single goal in the world cup and are out. Has any other team not given up a goal, I don't think they have.

A goal in penalty kicks is still a goal in my opinion, and it still counts as a loss in my opinion. But the announcers said that there has been team that didn't loose any games and were eliminated.
I watched Ghana v. Brazil today. The refs did a terrible job. The game was close and Ghana was controlling possession, then the refs called a goal that was actually offsides and put the game out of reach at 2 nil Brazil.

Did find out that the Swiss were the only team to not give up a goal the entire tournament. Brazil, France (heading into 2nd round), Spain (heading into 2nd round), Portugal and Italy are the only teams to give up only 1 goal.
I guess I will have to respectively disagree about the giving up a goal thing. Giving up a goal in a shootout shouldn't count as a goal for a players statistics, or count against a team as giving in a goal. It is not during the time in the game, and wasn't earned. A shooter has a distinct advantage in a shootout, and if the goalie makes a save that is a huge advantage.

Yeah, but I disagree that those announcers say that teams never lost and and where knocked out of the tournament. Some of theses teams were knocked out after the first stage too, so if the other team moved on then they must have lost.
I would have to say a goal in shootout is more than earned. If you can hold one of the best teams in the world scoreless for 120 min not including stoppage, then you have earned a chance to try to beat them in a shootout.

Brazil's going home after a 1-0 loss to France. All 4 semifinal teams are European.

I don't think France is going to be able to get by Portugal. They looked impressive in their victory over England today even though they were without their entire line up (which they will have against France).
And how about The Portugal goalie. He really proved himself during that shoot out.

true but Portugal couldn't score against England in regulation and they only had 10 men (No Michael Owen, David Becham, or Wayne Rooney) and France has better defenders and a midfield that can control entire games with Zidane, Viera and Ribery plus eventually during a game Henry is going to break out of a defense, so thats just my piece

Germany lost yesterday 2-0 to Italy. (So much for my prediction of Germany going all the way)

yeah after the first goal Germany had to push everyone up and Italy just had a nice counter-attack to put it away

Well one-nil final for France vs Portugal, France scores on an absolute rocket PK by Zidane. Good game all around and the final is going to be exciting. Italy is a very disiplined team, with a solid back line. France is a team that also has a good defense, but their true strength lies withen the midfield.
