Imagine if Leathers hadn't run at Woodsboro on Saturday. Seeing those 2 battle it out fresh would make for an awesome race.

I do believe Arthur would have beaten Bernard if he had not run at Mt. Run, but I don't think he would have "spanked him."

It will be interesting to see how the times from this course match up with those at Bull Run, usually they are pretty similar.

I'm suprised Arthur was so close to Bernard, having ran two races in 48 hours. Too bad we, WHS, couldn't have been there. SC is better than Mountain Run in my opinion, although I really don't like either. And is SC a 5K or 3 Mile?

When their current course finishes in the stadium it is a 5K (the SC Invite finished in the stadium, just like counties does).

CJ - I am told they changed a portion of the Mountain Run course, that I heard several coaches say really made the course better. I personally thought the course was great. It was a beautiful area, the course surface was great, great for spectators, and challenging.
I heard a lot of positive at the Moutain Run this year on the course.

I didn't mean that Mountain Run is a bad cross-country course; in fact, I find it to be a well-marked and challenging course. Personally, I just don't like running there. I guess it's the hill that comes a little later now than it did two years ago that annoys me, but overall it's a good course. It's just in my opinion, it's not my favorite place to run. Interestingly, I really don't like the Westminster course that much either, but I do like Bull Run. Maybe I'm just weird that way...

They changed the finish. Instead of crossing the bridge the last time and then running completely around the field you head straight for the finish. They added some distance before you run the hill the first time. I think it definitely improves the course. The end is more exciting because you cross the bridge and then its all out to the finish.

It's not that Mt. Run is a terrible course, it's just that like owlscc9104 I personally hate running there (probably because I always did poor there). And it makes since that I like the Sc course better because well I'm from SC.
I am glad to hear that they made some changes though.
The only problem with the course I can really see is the fact that it is viewer unfriendly. Once you go up that big hill in the beginning of the race, no one will really see you again until the finish.

I disagree with scdistance, i think that Mt. Run is a fairly viewer friendly course, once you get into the woods after the huge hill, you are only running in there for a little less than a mile, other than that you can stand in one spot and view almost the rest of the course!

I would disagree also. If you start at the upper bridge you don't have to walk that far towards hill to part of the first mile, some of the 2nd, and almost all of the 3rd mile. Just walk back across the bridge and you can catch the finish. I think it works out well for most.
