I think the 1600 will be won (in a great race) in under 4:30 (I would be shocked if it wasn't) and the 800 will be won in sub 2.
We had a ton of kids out today, and a few that could make some noise. Eric Liberatore is running - the last track meet he won he led from start to finish in winning the 1600 at states. Will be interesting to see where he stands after his time off and the improvement of this county. The one thing I do think is, that Liberty's school record will be broken - and their is 3 guys that have a shot at doing it this year. We will have to make cuts this year we have so many - maybe more then 140 kids.
How was were the turnouts around the county?

140? wow, how do you guys promote it so well at your school? i think we had about 100 at a track meeting a couple weeks ago but after kids quit it'll be around 75-80 i'm sure. and we didn't start today which i thought was a bit lame but whatevs. we got about 9 weeks until counties.

People just say that they hate track because they know that they can't run.

140 WOW! Winters Mill its like 50 if that. How do you guys get so many people to come out. Everyone hates track at our school. Compared to Middletown, 140 kids is like a 1A school. Plus some will most likely quit when it gets tough, thinking track was supposed to be fun and a social event. That's all the snarfing that's needed for now.

actually, from what I have heard, the Middletown boys get usually about 75 to 80 boys each year (the girls team is smaller). So not sure that the 1a analogy works there.
We don't usually have that many people quit.

Westminster has around 60-70 yea even though we are 4a no one really comes out for that same reason of "not caring for track" hey guys i heard that Dustin Mathers quit track all together from one of his teammates.
